referral agencies
DIG’s Referral Agencies are essential partners in helping local families turn housing into home. Our partners identify and vet individuals and families who may benefit from DIG’s services, complete referrals alongside their clients, and help ensure we have the accurate information needed to serve them well.
Together, we work to make accessing the essentials of home as dignified, efficient, and barrier-free as possible.

-
DIG partners with organizations that have an established relationship with the individuals and families they refer and can remain a resource throughout the furnishing process and beyond. Referral partners should be able to help identify appropriate clients, complete referrals with them, provide accurate information, and remain reasonably available if DIG needs support with communication or coordination. Partners may include nonprofits, human service agencies, schools, healthcare providers, government agencies, and other community-based organizations.

DIG serves individuals and families actively living in Snyder, Union, and Northumberland counties who need furniture and/or household essentials to safely and comfortably furnish their homes. There is no income or case requirement to receive services, but all clients must be referred by an approved DIG Referral Agency partner. We rely on our referral partners to help identify and vet clients who would meaningfully benefit from DIG’s services.
-
Referrals, shopping appointments, furnishings, and client pic-up from DIG are all provided at no cost. If a client needs DIG to deliver their furniture, a $50 delivery fee is charged to the referring agency for each completed household delivery. This fee should not be passed along to the client.
-
DIG provides a variety of gently used furniture and household essentials based on what is donated by our community. Our Donation Guide is an easy way to understand what we do and do not accept - and, in turn, what you can generally expect us to provide to referred clients. Because our inventory changes daily and is entirely donation-dependent, we cannot guarantee that every item a client needs will be available at the time of their appointment.
